FAQs
Can my child bring their own snacks?
Yes. If your child has dietary restrictions or allergies, you can provide snacks for them to have at camp. These will be stored in a labeled bin with their name and group.
Is water available during snack time?
Yes. Water and naturally sweetened drinks are available all day at drink stations, with scheduled drink breaks. Campers are encouraged to use their reusable water bottles, and disposable cups are also available
Are sweets or candy allowed?
Candy, lollipops, gum, and similar items are not allowed at camp
What if my child forgets their snack?
Camp provides two daily snacks—one in the morning and a frozen treat in the afternoon—so even if your child forgets theirs, they will still have snacks provided
Is there a snack bar or canteen?
No. There’s no snack bar or canteen, but snacks are given daily and sometimes made in the Edible Art program
What steps does the camp take to manage food allergies?
The camp is “allergy aware” and takes precautions such as:
Separate storage for lunches of campers with allergies
Allergen-free tables, cleaned between each lunch period
Requiring pre-packaged treats with labeled ingredients for group celebrations
Staff trained in allergy awareness, emergency response, and EpiPen use
What foods are restricted at camp?
Restricted items include:
Glass bottles
Aluminum cans
Carbonated beverages
Chewing gum
What happens if my child has an allergic reaction?
Staff are trained to recognize and respond to allergic reactions, including administering prescribed medication or an epinephrine auto-injector. Parents are contacted immediately, and in severe cases, 911 is called and the camper is taken by ambulance to the nearest ER
Are special diets like vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free supported?
Yes, but you should send in appropriate snacks or lunch for your child if needed. For pizza day or special events, contact your Campus Director in advance to arrange an alternative meal
